Modern classical ~ Ambient ~ Experimental

Nicola Olla (b. 1987, Sardinia, Italy) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans music, composition, filmmaking, photography, and illustration. Active for over 20 years across Europe, he is known for immersive sonic and visual projects that merge emotion with experimentation. As a musician and composer, he has performed widely with projects including Charun (Third Eye Records), Drought (Avantgarde Music), Lera (Subsound Records), December Hung Himself (Personal Escape Records), My Own Prison (Blacktooth Music), BillyBio (AFM Records), We Are Building Ruins, Dedalus in Bloom, Mutilated Soul, and many others, spanning experimental, post-rock, ambient, hardcore, and metal scenes. His solo debut EP Ω (World Press Photo 2024, Sinnai) introduced a deeply introspective style built on piano, electric and twelve-string guitars, ambient textures, and improvised layers. He returned to score the 2025 edition with APÓLEIA, a longer and more detailed work grounded in raw improvisation and deliberate imperfection. In 2026, Olla comes back with Dissolution, a 13-track album exploring personal and social introspection, the individual’s place in contemporary society, and the dialogue between the human mind and cosmic space. Expanding his ambient language with cinematic and atmospheric elements, the album marks both a continuation and an evolution of his sound. Olla has contributed to over 20 studio releases in roles ranging from performer and sound designer to mixer, artwork creator, and print developer. Alongside music, he works as a filmmaker, photographer, and illustrator, extending his storytelling into visual form.
